I agree this is what is needed. It has been needed for decades. Republicans are better at messaging, at motivating (and motivating people to do things that actually make a difference), and they are better at playing the long game. And we're suffering because of it. All I see from Democrats is an onslaught of requests for money from multiple politicians, wanna-be politicians, and PACs. I opt out of every request and I'm someone deeply committed to fighting against what is happening. But I have no confidence in current leadership. None. Indivisible is probably the closest thing I've seen to anything that combines decent messaging with meaningful action. But the Indivisible tent is probably too small. We need a non-profit that finds the connections between the far left and the moderates and conservative Democrats. But what might that be??
Reading this three months later is not encouraging. The fractured power among Dems and progressives means no one wants to give up running their own little fiefdom for the greater good. It also doesn't help to have entrenched electeds like Schumer and Jeffries who will never get on board with something like this.
People in the 'mainstream' are generally terrified that they now know only fundamental change will be enough to deal with the challenges of climate change, nuclear weapons, etc. This must be admitted out loud so it can be confronted, the messages of the right exposed for their desperation.

Well, I don't know how this would work on the left as there is no all-powerful Dear Leader to channel the energy.
