Charlie Schumer has been around a long time and so have I. There’s nothing Searchlight has to say that I haven’t heard a thousand times already. MAGA lite. Zzzzzz.

Schumer needs to step aside and take hakeem with him. The nancy pelosi era is over.

Two points:

1. I think that Our Host is dancing around this point, but effective politics requires an enemy. I don't mean this in a Schmittian sense, i.e., that politics cannot be conceived without enemies. I mean it in a more workaday sense--the verb "fighting" needs an object. WHO you are fighting? The Republicans know this, and they are fighting named enemies: foreigners, "thugs," and "elites." ("Thug" has an obvious meaning; "elites" means Jews-but-we-love-us-some-Bibi.) Democrats have an obvious enemy: the oligarchs--Roosevelt's "malefactors of great wealth." Nobody in the Democratic Party nor any populists like oligarchs, except perhaps for a few funders.

2. "The groups" have a peculiar set of demands. They want remarkably little of substance, but insist on a lot of stilted rhetoric, possibly because of internal political reasons of their own. This isn't helping the Democrats. Maybe Waleed is making this point in a more subtle way.

Sounds like the wishy washy independents. Facts are there are more dems than repubs. But dems are more complacent, and the so called blue dogs often agree with the fiscal policies of the repugs
